Angelina Khiem

Angelina is our Glass Family Takeoff Space Scholar, honoring the Glass family who have been long-term extended family to Jonathan as well as generous donors to Takeoff Space. A senior at Lowell High School with a goal to be the first in her family to go to college and study either biology or pharmaceuticals, Angelina then wishes to continue to medical school.

Along with being involved in Science League at her school, Angelina is a part of Latin Lyceum (a highly-selective program at Lowell high School) and the Political Debate Club. She pushes herself with an array of AP classes from Physics and Calculus BC to American Literature and Composition. Impressively, she made a notable contribution and left a lasting legacy by helping found the Studio Art Club reflecting a love for drawing  she wants to share with her classmates.

Angelina is the daughter of parents who immigrated from Cambodia after suffering the evils of Pol Pot and the Khmer Rouge. She works very hard to help support her family by working after school weekdays and weekends up to 10 pm at KFC/Taco Bell while insisting on keeping up with all her school work, however late she has to stay up before getting rest. We all admire her ability to be cheerful and have nice manners despite the heavy ordeal of managing long paid workdays alongside her high school work.

Angelina hopes getting a college degree will help her support her family even more. Mentor: Sabrina Morales.
